7 ladies & a girl in Iceland: Reykjavik

When: May 29, 2017. Where: Reykjakvik

Weather: Cloudy  Temperature: 6°C  Feels like: 3°C – windy & drizzling

We got a very nice home stay about 10mins drive away from the Reykjakvik city centre. Our chef love the kitchen & we love the space. The 6 year old played with the owner’s 2 kids who is living next door – they had a ball at the trampoline.

So we start the day by going for the free city walk (tips need to be given). It was just too cold & windy – some of us could not complete the walk because – the cold is just too much.

Here are the city sights

Then we walked to try the Lobster soup at Sea Baron. To be honest – the soup is so-so but the grilled fish were really good.

We decide to go have a bite of the famous hot dog of Reyjakvik

Next, we walk to the Harpa Concert hall – it was beautiful & at least I decide to stay long in there because the cold is too much for me. There are many seating area & it was all glass up – so one can observed the city from the Harpa.

At 4pm – we decide to all drive back to our place of stay to freshen up before we go for our highly anticipated dinner at Sjavargrillid. Reservations are recommended.

Dinner @ Sjavargrillid

We were there on time & there were already a queue going on. Many were turned away because it is fully booked  (on a weekday night!).

The food is really really good – everything was done to perfection. We enjoyed their starters, soups, salads, lambs, fish, pasta & desserts. Even the cocktails were done really well. If I were ever to go Iceland again – will definitely want to eat here again!

After the satisfying dinner, we went back to the quaint little red house for final pack up for our trip home tomorrow.

And here’s my little champion – she walked 10km with us in London city for 2 whole days, she travelled with us in our van without a lot of fuss, she hiked to the slippery slopes to see the Seljalandfoss – I am so proud.
